Hospedería endosada
Lodging with official endorsement from the Tourism Company, which verifies quality, safety and registration requirements. It covers paradores, small hotels and country inns within defined categories. Choosing an endorsed property means it is registered and that there is a formal channel for complaints.
Example
If you are torn between two similar places, the endorsed one at least has an official registry behind it.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know a property is endorsed?
It appears on the Tourism Company's official list and usually says so on its own site and at the front desk.
Can a vacation rental be endorsed?
Short term rentals fall under their own registration rules and not the same categories. Check that the host is registered.
