Asopao

A soupy rice halfway between stew and soup, usually with chicken or seafood, built on sofrito, annatto and olives. It is rainy day home cooking rather than tourist restaurant food. It often shows up as the daily special in neighborhood cafeterias.

Esempio

When it rains in the mountains, the daily chicken asopao at a small town diner beats any long menu.
