Vuelo en avioneta
Short hops in light aircraft between San Juan or Ceiba and the islands of Vieques and Culebra, taking roughly 10 to 30 minutes depending on the origin. They cost more than the ferry and in exchange they run on time and skip the drive to Ceiba. Baggage is weight limited and sometimes they weigh you too, which is part of the deal.

If your bio bay plan depends on reaching Vieques that same day, the small plane is the insurance the ferry does not provide.
