Fetes
Fiestas patronales
The yearly festival of each of the 78 municipalities in honor of its patron saint, set up in the town plaza with music, crafts, food and rides. They run several days and are free, and every town has its own date, so there is almost always one happening somewhere. It is the cheapest and most genuine way to see a local celebration with no tourist staging involved.
Exemple
Asking your host which town has its patron festival that week usually beats any bar list for an evening plan.
