Cote et mer
Corriente de resaca
A narrow channel of water rushing back out to sea that drags swimmers away from shore. It is the real hazard on north coast beaches, especially in winter when Atlantic swell arrives. You escape by swimming parallel to the beach, never straight against the pull.
Exemple
A darker strip of water with no waves breaking, running straight out, is usually exactly where you should not swim.
