Barril de bomba
A drum originally built from a rum barrel with a goatskin head, the rhythmic base of bomba. At least two are played: the buleador holds the groove and the primo or subidor converses with the dancer. It is the island's most historically loaded instrument, because it came from whatever material the plantations had.
Esempio
The barrel answering the dancer's moves is the primo, and the one that never stops keeping time is the buleador.
